Using the right ingredients at the right temperature, measuring and adding components precisely are all part of it. However, there are some additional good-to-knows which are not crucial but worth knowing. One of them is to reuse candle jars. After burning your candles, you will be left with many small jars. Getting old wax out of the jar

You can try by using hot water as it will quickly melt the wax and you will only have to clean the jar a bit afterwards. It is a quick and convenient way as you don’t have to clean for hours.

Alternatively, you can put it in the oven after preheating it to 200°F. You should put it upside down and put baking sheet under them to collect the melted wax.

The opposite can also work fine which would be putting the jars in the freezer. It works because the wax will shrink in the jar and you will be able to easily remove the wax. The only throwback is that it takes more time so it’s best if you place the jars in the freezer overnight.

All the above mentioned methods work perfectly so it’s really your choice. After that, you should rinse it and remove the leftover and it’s already good to go.

Ways of reusing

Now you have your empty and clean jars waiting for a purpose. The good news is that there are basically endless ways to reuse them as they are small containers. Obviously, as a candle maker, your first and most logical choice is to make new candle in it. That’s perfect, because you can easily reuse it that way. But let’s see what else is out there!

You can use them as small flower pots and plant succulents or herbs in them. It is a great way to practice gardening indoors and decorate your bedroom and living room with them.

Another option is to organize your pens, pencils and other office supplies in them. As they are usually tall enough to fit a pen comfortably, it would look great on your desk at home or at the office as well. You can even decorate them to make the result more colourful and happy.

For women, storing your jewellery might also be a good option. With smaller jars, you can separately hold your necklaces, earrings and rings in a stylish way.

Similarly to jewellery, you can also store your makeup, lipsticks or hair accessories in them. They will look organized and neat in your bathroom shelf.

All in all, it is obvious that recycling your old candle jars are so much better than simply throwing them away. With all possible methods, it is quick and easy to remove the wax. After that, it is up to you how you would like to keep using them!
